 1. पीएम मोदी 18 मई को नई दिल्ली के प्रगति मैदान में अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संग्रहालय एक्सपो 2023 का उद्घाटन करेंगे।

 2. केंद्रीय रेल राज्य मंत्री दर्शन जरदोश ने इंदौर से भारत गौरव पर्यटन ट्रेनों की श्रृंखला में वीडियो कॉन्फ्रेंसिंग के माध्यम से इंदौर-पुरी गंगासागर भव्य काशी यात्रा ट्रेन को हरी झंडी दिखाई।

 3. केंद्रीय संचार मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने मंगलवार को नई दिल्ली में एक समारोह में संचार साथी पोर्टल नाम से एक नागरिक केंद्रित पोर्टल लॉन्च किया, जिसके माध्यम से मोबाइल उपयोगकर्ता अब अपने खोए हुए मोबाइल फोन को ट्रैक और ब्लॉक कर सकते हैं।

 4. गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने नई दिल्ली में विधायी प्रारूपण पर एक प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम का उद्घाटन किया।  कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य संसद, राज्य विधानसभाओं, विभिन्न मंत्रालयों, वैधानिक निकायों और अन्य सरकारी विभागों के अधिकारियों के बीच विधायी प्रारूपण के सिद्धांतों और प्रथाओं की बेहतर समझ पैदा करना है।

 5. कर्नाटक कांग्रेस प्रमुख डीके शिवकुमार, जो अगले राज्य के मुख्यमंत्री बनने की दौड़ में हैं, ने मंगलवार को नई दिल्ली में पार्टी अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे से मुलाकात की।  सूत्रों के अनुसार, शिवकुमार ने खड़गे के अगले सीएम बनने की इच्छा व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि उन्होंने 2019 में उनकी सरकार गिरने के बाद राज्य में पार्टी के पुनर्निर्माण में मदद की।

 कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे के आज बेंगलुरु में कर्नाटक के अगले मुख्यमंत्री के नाम की घोषणा करने की उम्मीद है

 6. सुन्नी उलमा बोर्ड के मुस्लिम नेताओं ने मांग की है कि कर्नाटक के उपमुख्यमंत्री का पद उनके समुदाय के जीतने वाले उम्मीदवारों को दिया जाए।  उन्होंने यह भी मांग की है कि पांच मुस्लिम विधायकों को गृह, राजस्व, स्वास्थ्य और अन्य विभागों जैसे अच्छे विभागों के साथ मंत्री बनाया जाए।

 7. बीआरएस अध्यक्ष और तेलंगाना के मुख्यमंत्री के. चंद्रशेखर राव, जिन्होंने बुधवार को तेलंगाना भवन में एक बैठक बुलाई, से आगामी विधानसभा चुनावों के लिए पार्टी उम्मीदवारों की घोषणा और वाम दलों के साथ गठबंधन पर स्पष्टता देने की उम्मीद है।

 1. केरल स्टोरी फिल्म ने अब तक बॉक्स ऑफिस पर 147 करोड़ रुपये से अधिक की कमाई की है।  अदा शर्मा अभिनीत यह फिल्म ₹150 करोड़ क्लब की ओर बढ़ रही है।

   अनुसूया, अत्रि नाम के एक प्राचीन ऋषि (ऋषि) की पत्नी थीं और हिंदू महाकाव्यों में प्रसूति और दक्ष की बेटी थीं।  रामायण में, वह अपने पति के साथ चित्रकूट वन की दक्षिणी सीमा पर एक छोटे से आश्रम में रहती थी।

 सती अनसूया के पास पवित्र जल 'पाधा तीर्थम' छिड़क कर चमत्कार करने की शक्ति थी, जिसके साथ उन्होंने ऋषि अत्रि के पैर धोए थे।  हालाँकि, जब ऋषि नारद ने तीनों देवियों यानी देवी सरस्वती, लक्ष्मी और पार्वती को यह तथ्य सुनाया तो वे इस पर विश्वास नहीं कर पाए।  इसलिए, उन्होंने सती अनसूया की शुद्धता का परीक्षण करने का फैसला किया।  सरस्वती, लक्ष्मी और पार्वती ने क्रमशः अपने पति ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और शिव को साजिश में शामिल किया।

 त्रिमूर्ति तब सती अनसूया से भिक्षा मांगने वाले तीन पुराने भिक्षुओं के रूप में ऋषि अत्रि के आश्रम में पहुंचे।  जब सती अनसूया कुछ भोजन लेकर तीनों भिक्षुओं के पास पहुंचीं, तो तीनों ने यह कहते हुए इनकार कर दिया कि उन तीनों द्वारा लिए गए कठोर व्रत के कारण, वे कपड़े पहनने वालों से भिक्षा स्वीकार नहीं कर सकते।  स्थिति ने सती अनसूया को बड़ी उलझन में डाल दिया लेकिन, उनके पास हर समस्या का समाधान था।  पवित्र 'पाधा तीर्थम' छिड़क कर उसने तीनों भिक्षुओं को शिशुओं में बदल दिया और फिर बिना कपड़े पहने तीनों शिशु-भिक्षुओं को खिलाया।

 जब ऋषि अत्रि अपने आश्रम में लौटे, तो सती अनसूया ने उन्हें बताया कि उनकी अनुपस्थिति में क्या हुआ था और तीनों बच्चों को उन्हें भेंट किया।  ऋषि अत्रि ने अपनी दिव्य दृष्टि के माध्यम से, तीन शिशुओं में पवित्र त्रिमूर्ति - ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और शिव की कल्पना की।  ऋषि अत्रि ने अपनी पत्नी से कहा कि वे उनकी मां बनने की इच्छा पूरी करने आए हैं।  फिर तीनों बच्चे मिलकर एक हो गए।  उन्होंने तीन अलग-अलग सिर, एक सूंड, दो पैर और छह हाथ धारण किए।  जब तीनों देवियों को ऋषि नारद से घटना का पता चला, तो वे अपने पति को वापस लेने के लिए अत्रि और सती अनसूया के पास गईं।  आखिरकार, ब्रह्मा, विष्णु और शिव अपने-अपने संघों में लौट आए।  साथ ही उन्होंने सती अनसूया की इच्छा पूरी की और उनकी संतान के रूप में संयुक्त रूप में रहे।  बच्चा बड़ा होकर अब तक के सबसे महान संतों में से एक बन गया।  उनका नाम दत्तात्रेय रखा गया और उन्होंने अंत तक अपने माता-पिता की सेवा की

The program aims to create a better understanding of the principles and practices of legislative drafting among officers of Parliament, State Legislatures, various ministries, statutory bodies, and other government departments.

5. Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar, who is in the race to become the next state chief minister, met party president Mallikarjun Kharge in New Delhi on Tuesday. According to sources, Shivakumar expressed his desire to become the next CM to Kharge, saying that he helped the party rebuild in the state after their government collapsed in 2019.

1.  Uttar Pradesh government has hiked the dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and dearness relief to its pensioners by four percent with effect from January 1 this year.

1.  The Kerala Story movie has so far minted over ₹147 crore at the box office. Starring Adah Sharma, the film is inching closer towards the ₹150 crore club.

Opposition politicians have criticised the film, calling it propaganda. But the makers say the film is based on years of research and true events.  The government of West Bengal & Tamilnadu states has banned the film, while two states - Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, both  have made the film tax-free.

2. Gucci, the luxury fashion brand from Italy, has appointed Alia Bhatt as its first global ambassador from India. She will debut as the brand's newest global ambassador at the Gucci Cruise 2024 show.

3. The documentary “Gauri”, directed by Kavitha Lankesh, has received the “Best Long Documentary Award” at the South Asian Film Festival of Montreal 2023. The film is about journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh, who was assassinated in 2017.

4. Actress Esha Gupta made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival red carpet wearing a thigh-high slit gown by designer Nicolas Jebran. The actress attended the film festival as part of the Indian government delegation. The film festival, which will be held from May 16 to May 27, opened with Johnny Depp's film 'Jeanne Du Barry'.

1. Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma on Tuesday (May 16) took over as the Chief of Staff of the Indian Army’s Western Command.

2. Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit took over as the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, according to the Minister of Defence. Ashutosh Dixit, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, was Commissioned in the fighter stream on December 6 in 1986.

3. Indian Army conducts Flood Relief Exercise Jal Rahat in Assam:   Gajraj Corps of the Indian Army conducted a Joint Flood Relief 'Exercise Jal Rahat' at Hagrama Bridge on Manas River, Assam to validate joint drills and coordinate preparedness by multi-agency flood relief columns. 

4. Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX), a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Defence, has reached a milestone with the signing of its 250th contract on Monday, officials said. This was also the first contract signed under Mission DefSpace, the ministry said in a statement.

5. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar  co-chaired a review meeting with field officers over the security arrangements for the G20 meet to be held in the valley for the first time since the abrogation of article 370.

2. The fate of the Asia cup still uncertain, host Pakistan have threatened to boycott a test Series in Sri Lanka after reports emerged off the Sri Lankan cricket board's reluctance to commit to the hybrid model proposed by the PCB.

  Anusuya , was the wife of an ancient rishi (sage) named Atri and daughter of Prasuti and Daksha in the Hindu epics. In the Ramayana, she lived with her husband in a small hermitage on the southern border of the Chitrakuta forest.

Sati Anasuya had the powers to perform miracles by sprinkling 'Paadha Theertham', the sacred water with which she washed Sage Atri’s feet. However, when Sage Narada narrated this fact to the three Devis i.e. goddess Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati they were unable to believe it. They, therefore, decided to test the chastity of Sati Anasuya. Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati involved their husbands Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva respectively in the plot.

The Trinity then arrived at the hermitage of Sage Atri in the form of three old mendicants seeking alms from Sati Anasuya. When Sati Anasuya approached the three mendicants with some food, the three denied it saying that because of the severe vow taken by the three of them, they cannot accept alms from those wearing clothes. The situation led Sati Anasuya in great confusion but, she had solution to every problem. By sprinkling the holy 'Paadha Theertham' she turned the three mendicants into babies and then fed the three baby-mendicants without wearing any clothes.

When Sage Atri returned to his hermitage, Sati Anasuya narrated to him what all had happened in his absence and presented the three babies to him. Sage Atri, through his divine vision, envisioned the Holy Trinity – Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva in the three babies. Sage Atri said to his wife that they have come to fulfill her wish to become their mother. The three babies then conjoined to become one. They occupied three separate heads, one trunk, two legs and six hands. When the three devis learnt the incident from Sage Narada, they went to Atri and Sati Anasuya to get their husbands back. Eventually, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva returned to their respective consorts. Simultaneously, they fulfilled the wish of Sati Anasuya and remained in the conjoined form as her child. The child grew up to the one of the greatest sages of all times. He was named Dattatreya, and he served his parents till the end
